My father Roger Clover formed Clovercare Wedding Cars in 1992 and after working for Rolls Royce for 10 years I joined him in the family business.
We started with a Silver Shadow and a Jaguar and then went on to add three Daimler Limousines together with two vintage Rolls Royces’. Grace was the final car that my father and I purchased together.
We were invited to view the Silver Rolls Royce, Grace, whose owner had died and whose widow wanted her to go to a loving new owner who would appreciate her rarity and beauty. When my father and I saw her for the first time it was a very special moment and we knew we had to buy her. After raiding piggy banks and the family safe we sealed the deal. Grace is as beautiful today as she was when purchased in 2002. Latterly we sold off the early fleet as trends in the market changed.
In 2010 my father retired and I took on the business as sole proprietor. I purchased Anne from Leeds and Olivia from Suffolk. Recently I have added Daisy May who is a VW 1970 T2 bay. I bought Daisy from a lovely local couple and they had purchased her from the original owner so she’s a rare find being a two-owner vehicle. In the pipeline, I also have a VW 1972 T2 bay, named Tipsy Tulip. Tulip is not quite ready for weddings as her history began in Cornwall as a daily surf van and as you can imagine the sea atmosphere isn’t great for her bodywork, follow her restoration on Instagram
I continue with all the values passed to me from my father and I’m looking forward to rebranding the business to Mark Clover Wedding Cars to carry on our family name.
